Not long now… Just to give you an idea of how we will be working on re-opening, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you
With safety for everyone in mind, we will only be opening the front and rear garden areas, excluding the playground. No reservations, so table availability is on ‘a first come first served basis’.
Toilet facilities will available on the public bar side, accessed via the side door entrance operating a ‘one in – one out’ queue system.
Drinks ordering: a simple – queue, order and pay, at one station, then collect from another. All areas will be clearly signed. We ask that you pay at the time of ordering and that you use contactless wherever possible.
There will be no food service this weekend – we are just trying to get to grips with a new way of operating, we will however be continuing our existing Thursday/Friday takeaway food service, and will more than likely extend this so that people can eat in our gardens in forthcoming weeks.
Registration of visitors to the pub: For the purpose of NHS Track and Trace, we have been asked to collect details of all people visiting the pub on any given day – to make this as simple as possible, we will be asking you to text your name to a mobile number which has been set up specifically and exclusively for the use of collecting this information. It will not be accessed unless required for Track and Trace purposes. The information on the phone will be held for 3 weeks and then deleted. Please work with us in registering every time you visit the pub – its for your safety just as much ours.
Weather: The joys of the Great British weather means you need to prepare for anything – we have a tent out the front, and limited umbrellas, so come prepared. In the event of rain, the inside of the pub will not be available.
Drinks stock: We have ordered what we can, but there will be a few items missing, hopefully over the next few weeks we will better understand the volumes we require…. Re-opening and stock levels is very much a guessing game right now….
Behaviour: I just wish to re-iterate our stance on how we expect you to behave – we do understand the excitement of returning to a pub and catching up with people for maybe the first time in months… but… THE VIRUS IS STILL OUT THERE… We cannot forget that… so we ask:
• Please don’t overindulge
• Don’t forget social distancing guidelines (2m or 1m+ with risk mitigation – only gather outdoors in a group of no more than six people from different households or in larger groups if everyone is from up to two households only)
• Respect other peoples enjoyment of the pub
• Respect our new way of operating
• And if you can’t do this, do not be upset when we ask you to leave the property
Going forward: we will be operating limited hours over the next few weeks until we find our feet again, the business model we used in the past is no longer viable, so we have to work smarter. Our proposed operating hours for the next few weeks are: (but subject to change where we deem necessary): Monday & Tuesdays: 3pm-7pm, Wed-Sat: 12midday-10pm, Sundays 12midday – 7pm
